"SOUND OF THE CITY" is Jason and Nicks first collaboration with legendry vocalist KATHY BROWN. The track was inspired by the buzzing vibe of the metropolis. Interlaced within the chugging Balearic beats, guitars and base are car horns and street sirens on top of which Kathy’s soaring vocal cuts through.
Promos of SOUND OF THE CITY have received great reception from club dance floors throughout Europe and Australia including radio play whilst being supported by DJs including ROGER SANCHEZ, ALLISTER WHITEHEAD, MARK DOYLE, EDDIE THONEICK, SARAH MAIN, MARK ROBINSON, JIM RYAN and with PAGANO'S brilliant new remixes will soon enjoy a new lease of life! Release date to be announced very soon so watch this space.
The track was recorded at Care Studios, London. Engineered and guitar by Richard Searle.
Pagano Remixes were programmed for Deviate Records by Andy Alder.
JIVE TALKIN’ is more of a pop track this new serving from Jason Gardiner and Nick Tcherniak sees them teaming up with the dynamic Rowetta on lead vocals. Her voice perfectly evokes the soul and elevates the spirit with a rich, full bodied roar that wraps itself around every word. She is a singer whose voice is flavoured with a lived life that has been released from the depths of her soul.
JIVE TALKIN’ celebrates the belief in ourselves with it’s get-up-and-go-for-it attitude. In this dog-eat-dog world full of time-wasters and fakers the underlining message that is woven throughout this track is to trust in yourself and rely on no one. A strong mantra styled chorus powers you along and makes you want to conquer the universe with superhero invincibility.
The inspiration for JIVE TALKIN’ came to Jason in response to the trails and tribulations that were taking place in the lives of his friends and loved ones who were being deceived and taken advantage of by others.
“Each of us have be in a situation where we have invested our time and energy into someone or something only to learn that they were full of it. Most of us do see the warning signs but for some reason never act upon them. Instead we always doubt our instincts when they are perfectly in touch with what’s truly best. We wanted to write a song that gives power back to the Self and remind people to take back control of their lives and stop being drained by those whose intentions aren’t sincere.”
The WHITE KNIGHTS are proving that they have a diverse musical range from their debut Dance track which took clubland by storm last summer with SOUND OF THE CITY to their new Pop track JIVE TALKIN’. Always expect the unexpected from these guys is something we can be sure of as they head back into the studio to work on their next musical installments.
Long live the WHITE KNIGHTS!

ABOUT WHITE KNIGHTS
White Knights is the collaboration
of two very different talents
committed to produce innovative dance
music which aims to celebrate the return of
anthemic vocal tracks. We started our own
clubbing journey back when House was
born in the mid-late 80’s early 90’s, and the
influences of vocally lead dance music is
something we have a strong affinity with
and a burning desire to recapture with today’s
sound. Having both come from professional
dance backgrounds we understand
music not only as audible sound, but
as the power source to physical movement.
The types of rhythms, instruments and textures
we hear, colour our audible palette
and trigger a physical response in our bodies
allowing us to express what we hear. It
is this premise that most intrigues us as
dance music should do what it states- make
us dance! There are many different types of
dance genres that cater to all tastes, but
our first love is of those tunes that make an
entire floor unite in ecstasy and reckless
abandonment. Seeing people celebrate
music through dance has always resonated
deeply and continues to thrill and inspire
our music.

WHITE KNIGHTS
PRESS RELEASE: 22/05/07
SOUND OF THE CITY was written when choreographer/TV personality-Jason
Gardiner moved to Soho and heard the buzzing nightlife fill his apartment, inspiring him to
write what is now fast becoming this year’s Summer tune. After playing it to his writing
partner, DJ and Producer- Nick Tcherniak, the two decided to book into Care Studios with
brilliant engineer, Richard Searle. Once the instrumental version was complete it was time
to find a vocalist who could bring the words to life.
Enter the inimitable Kathy Brown! Never shy of an opportunity and having been fans of
her work for over 10 years, the White Knights decided to approach her after one of her
London gigs. They introduced themselves to Ms. Brown and they all hit it off. They told her
of the new track that they had written for her to record, and graciously, she told them to
send the demo on for her consideration. It was the longest 48 hours of their lives, but
when K.B. called to say she not only loved the track but wanted to record it, they couldn’t
contain their joy!
Sound of the City is their homage to a thriving metropolis, its energy and nightlife, celebrating
its diversity and colour. While some people long to leave the Rat Race for the fresh
country air, there are many of us that still thrive off its addictive pace, feeding our hedonistic
souls with excitement. So if you like your music to reflect your life, then this track is for
you!
